One of these days I will get a photo of these big birds at the feeder. They are very wary. This one is watching me while his pals fly off in the distance.
Oops! Sorry about that. It's a very big raven. There are three, perhaps four that visit on a regular basis. Fun to watch too. Only one can eat on the platform at a time - the others have to eat on the ground. It's quite a trick to land on the feeder. Unless the big bird comes down very softly like a helicopter the platform will spring wildly. Swooping in from the side simply tosses the bigger birds off the other side. Only one of them has mastered this trick.

ReplyDeleteI can never get a good shot of our crows...they are very careful birds, always on the look out for threats.
