There are quite a few of these birds around but I don't have a clue what they are. Though fast moving, they don't seem to mind me sitting just a few feet away.
nice looking bird! i tried to look him up in my BIG bird book...but...there are just way too many that look similar! first i think, oh, it's a sparrow...no, a bunting, oh, maybe a larkspur...a bobolink...???
I just had to look him up -- actually her. The reddish part at the top of the wing gives it away. She is a female redwing blackbird and there I was hoping for something exotic. But she does look very sharp.
