Hey Look Who Arrived!

The blue jays have been around for a while, but they don't seem to like having their photo taken. But if the feeder is empty in the morning they raise an awful fuss until I serve them breakfast. Now with a little luck I will get photos of the cardinals and blackbirds. It's not surprising they are so cautious, I'm only at most five feet from the feeder.

End of a Day

Just having fun with Photoshop.

Winter Afternoon Sky

This was taken mid november three years ago. It was freezing cold while I waited for the sun to set just behind the church steeple across the bay.

At it's best. (Sedum)

A very deep red - which will remain until the blooms are covered with snow.

These Shorter Days

The early setting sun - and late rising sun in the morning gives me a feeling of distorted, shifting time.

Cool Colors.

Before I get totally into the Fall season, I thought I would upload some photographs taken earlier this year.

The Watcher

A wandering siamese thinks I can't see her behind my tomato plants. She is keeping a close eye on some tempting birds but dares not try to catch them. The birds she was watching were some very big parrots. Dream on puss!

It looks dangerous...

But in reality this bloom is quite soft to the touch. It's a type of thistle - Echinops rito.

Lets not get too close!

I'm not certain if this is a yellowjacket, or a cicada killer wasp - but I was surrounded by them on the bamboo blooms.

Mayfly Wings

Remarkable wing structure.

You Called?

No, I did not call - she is not too sure if I might be getting ready to shoo her away from the feeder though.

Waiting....

Waiting for Ms. Fuzzytail to get off the feeder.

Now Hear This....

This one can be a regular chatterbox - eve while eating.

Heads Up!

These fearless little birds will even land on the camera - or my head while I try to take their picture.

Weeds?

Perhaps a weed, but this will continue blooming right up 'till he have a hard frost.
