Caught his picture! Normally I only see this tiny critter at night as his eyes shine like headlights in the IR camera light. He moves fast - I suspect if the raccoons ever saw him he would be a fast dinner for one. This is the first time I have seen this mouse in the daytime. He was falling all overhimself trying to drag that bit of bread back to his home under the retreat. At least that gave me a few seconds to grab a few pictures.

Our sons had pet mice for a while. Did you know they can get pregnant a few hours after giving birth. You don't want to know how I know this.
I still think they are cute but don't want them in (or under) my house.
I agree, I love them but not in my house. great picture
Cuuute! It's so funny how they will work so hard with a huge piece of food.
I once got to watch a squirrel dragging an entire third of a pizza along as it tried to get it up a big cherry laurel tree and into it's nest. My office was on the third floor and the nest was about eye level. I watched until I had to go to class, at which time he had only about a final quarter of the way to go. I didn't see him when I returned to my office after class and no pizza on the ground. I guess he was having a pizza party.
I love your blog and your photos are amazing. I really wish I knew how to take better pictures.
One year our house was not properly "buttoned up" before cold weather, and every mouse in the surrounding field tried to move in. Husband put a hav-a-hart trap in the kitchen range's bottom drawer, and daily, we'd get to observe these cute li'l guys inside the trap . . . before he took them way up the field and set them free in the stone wall.
Man, they're cute.
Cute title and little critter.
Wow, great photo!!
