Look What I found.....

This young squirrel seems to think he has the motherlode of food. It seems just a little too big for him to drag away - but he is trying.

Waiting for breakfast to be served

Napoleon is pretending he knows nothing about bird feeders. He is waiting quietly while I put seed out for (HA) the birds.

OK birds - back off, it's my time now

When Nappy lands on the feeder it's all his, except perhaps for a little chickadee he will share with.

LetsSee - what can I munch on next?

Still quite a bit of snow on the ground, but I heard a couple of Robins today for the first time this year. Otherwise it's a typical April day - chilly and wet. These photos were taken a couple of days ago when it was bright though cold.

I expect I will be seeing more of a few old friends of the raccoon persuation. There is a new skunk in the area. On the small side and quite distinctive as it's tail is totally black.

I'm Stuffed!

Yes, this is Napoleon.

Let him try!

I ain't got no worries......Nappy is big enough to even defy the ravens...

Stuffed!

One very happy and probably overfed critter.

The birds have been staying away from the feeder today. It's clear and quite warm outside, perfect weather for taking photos but Napoleon is the only one willing to pose.

Napoleon Waiting

Waiting for me to put more food on the feeder. He is stocking up for the snowstorm thats supposed to arrive early tomorrow morning. Even the birds seemed more excited. They kept me busy today. The weather is slightly warmer but still no sign of any raccoon activity this year. My bet is even the groundhog will be a no-show. (Grin). Smart critter!

About Time You Showed Up!

I think thats what this character was tellingme this morning. OK,I was NOT up late last night, I was NOT at a party, but I was getting a very nice sleep 'till you guys woke me this morning.

I am no having much luck getting photos of the larger birds at the feeder - it's probably too close to the door so the slightest movement on my part and they scram.

The raccoons seem to be still sleeping but my friendly skunk drops in just about every night.

OK, I give up - these squirrels seem to love having their photo taken (as long as I feed them) - so squirrel photos it is for now.

Best wishes for a very Happy New Year toone and all. ATB! Rusty

I though you were never going to wake up today!

Sassy grey! No, this is not Napoleon, but is almost as - hm, pushy?
Watching carefully, this just may be the mother squirrel I photographed back in October.

A Feast for the New Year.

Wet snow, light fog - the squirrels are enjoying the feast.

A Regular Visitor

It seems that no matter how cold it gets, this very big squirrel is first at the bird feeder. Yes, this is Napoleon himself.

Meet Napoleon

This is the big boss of the feeder, only the ravens dare to tease him. (I think it's a him). Just look at those claws!
