Beautiful...are they also known as "blind mosquitos"? If so ..our boat was covered with them..I should have looked closer. You have a good camera..what do you use?

Hi Carol. I have never heard the name 'blind mosquito' before. At least the mayflies don't, in fact can't bite. Their only purpose is to mate - and they have generally less than 48 hours of life left at this stage. They can't even eat!

The camera is a Nikon D-70 DSLR with the standard kit lens. I probably used an extension tube for this photo. ATB!
