OK birds - back off, it's my time now

When Nappy lands on the feeder it's all his, except perhaps for a little chickadee he will share with.

You just get the best shots of all yer lil' critters and boy do those coon look healthy...hmmm, maybe all the corn...hmmm...!

I'm having so much fun with my chicks, been about 15 years since I've raised them, but since I'm settling in to Iowa, it just seemed to be the right time!

The front fence in the coop yard, is only temporary for the daytime when I'm in the yard with the chicks, I have to tighten and chicken wire the fence yet, but the big run will be out the back door. I'm gonna build it so it's portable, 10' x 10' x 3' and covered in chicken wire, so hopefully the varmints will not get in, but I'm a light sleeper and one helluva shot, so I'll givum a run for their money!

Thanks for stopping by, hopefully we'll all get some permanent warm weather soon...it's quite brisk today still in Iowa!!!

Laura K It's a lot of fun when certain critters hang around enough to be recognized as individuals. One gets to know each character and they are all quite different.

Wild Thing; Though it was a heavy winter, all the local raccoons seem extremely healthy. Even Kimmie who has been coming around for about three years looked better than ever. Normally their tails can look pretty skinny in the spring - but not this year. I can only wonder why.

I mean - what can one do? When momma raccoon shows up and wants to show off and introduce her newest babies... Well they just gotta have names. (GRIN). I have to admit though it's sometimes very hand to tell one from another. The three that have been back this spring are all from the same litter, and they all know me - but I can't tell them apart.
