Hold the Onions!

Well look who came back. Now this critter has no smell - yet, and seems to tolerate me and my camera quite well. But I don't want to take any chances... Grinning a big grin. I wonder if there will be any baby skunks this year. I don't think so - I suspect this critter is just a year old.

I hope your new buddy hangs around and brings his (her?) family next year. Baby skunks are precious.

We have lived in our suburban home for 27 years next to a greenbelt. We have had deer and raccoons and various other critters but have only seen one skunk here in the middle of the night when I just happened to look out my front window to my porch. Fortunately he left.

Stay out of the line of fire!

This critter must be the momma skunk from a few years ago, or one of her youngsters. She had made none of the threatening signs upon seeing me or Milady, in fact she seems to come trotting out at times just waiting for a treat.
