Will he....?
Yes, this is our local groundhog. Now I wonder, will he see his shadow tomorrow? In fact it's so doggone cold here tonight I think Mr. GH would be wise to stay in his den, (wherever it is) - and keep warm.
Last night was minus 21C outside the Retreat. This morning the sky was crystal clear. And yet, the clouds are moving in and the temperature may not drop as low. Hope springs,(wrong word perhaps) - eternal. ATB!

I enjoy your photography so much. That groundhog is adorable!
The African Violet is gorgeous with that little white rim around the blue.
I used to grow them and they are so easy to start..just with one little leaf! Someone told me long ago that they like to be watered on the "feet" (water in the bottom saucer) an never from above...so that's how I always watered mine.
So glad to see your post today, Rusty. I saw the bone chilling temps up where you are and thought of you this morning!....:)
Thank God it's not that cold here in West Virginia! Great picture of your groundhog! Whether he sees his shadow or not I do hope that Spring comes sooner than later! This Winter has been a long one since it started earlier than usual around here.
What a cutie pie!!
Hi again Rusty, I love this... I've never seen a groundhog before. Great photo, it looks a stunning animal to me. It has lovely markings and face. Is this one out in the wild or in captivity?
Angela: It's getting a little warmer now - looks like the deep freeze might be over. However (!), that storm that started down in Texas and is clobbering it's way up to the north east has us in it's sights. Oh well. Winter ain't over yet. (Grin).
Shirl: Wild! It's a young one I managed to photograph almost two years ago. He (or she) was very shy and fast moving. With a little luch I hope to see more this spring.
All the critters here are wild, though in many cases quite 'friendly' and used to me and my camera. ATB!
Found some time to catch up here. Wow, look at him...
