Hey, what about my breakfast!

This character reminds me early every morning to put out the bird food.

He is such a beauty. There was a small drainage ditch near some fast food joints in one part of town where cattails, rushes, and other plants grew. It was a lush place for redwings and other species of birds. I used to really enjoy watching them while I sat in my car slurping my ice cream snacks. Now, in the name of progress, it has been paved and the birds are gone.

Beautiful and his perch has caught my eye too.

I've enjoyed regular visits from redwing blackbirds this summer too. Their call is a first sign of spring for me.

I love these birds. We have a lot of them up in the mountains.

Grin. Hi Frank. Their call always reminds me of the sound of the spring on the old screen door at my grandfather's country place.

What a character! He reminds me of the time that the hummingbird food ran out, and we had a line of 5-6 hummingbirds fluttering at the window, wondering where their food was!

Hi Lolly. They seem to be pretty well wide ranging. Check out online info places like birds, Enviroment Canada.

Hi Elizabeth. Now that must have been a sight! Thats one thing I hardly ever see around here - hummingbirds. The last time I set out a special feeder for them all we go was hornets.. I think I will try that again next year.
